FaxBack Announces Strategy to Support the FAXability Desktop Fax Client

Protects Customer Investments in FAXability and CAS 1.2 Third-Party Applications With the Next Generation of the Popular NET SatisFAXtion Fax Server

BEAVERTON, Oregon. - January 20, 1998 - FaxBack, Inc., pioneer of the NET SatisFAXtion fax server software line, FaxBack® brand fax-on-demand and CAS fax development technology solutions, today announced support of the FAXability desktop fax client with NET SatisFAXtion 6.0. The initiative is aimed at protecting the thousands of existing NET SatisFAXtion customer technology investments in the popular client.

FaxBack plans to include support for previous versions of FAXability with its next generation of NET SatisFAXtion fax servers beginning in February. The company also plans to support all CAS 1.2 and DOS fax applications that had been supported by earlier versions of NET SatisFAXtion. Additionally, NET SatisFAXtion supports other desktop fax clients including Symantec's WinFax PRO, STF Technologies' FAXstf, as well as the NET SatisFAXtion E-Mail Gateway Module for users needing to send and receive faxes from their email program of choice.

"Having our customers provide feedback on their migration challenges reinforces our commitment to FAXability. Many NET SatisFAXtion customers have been telling us they are excited about what NET SatisFAXtion 6.0 can do for their businesses. However, support is needed for the estimated 500,000 users of previous versions of FAXability to protect customer technology investments while making migration smooth and easy," said Jim Mueller, executive vice president at FaxBack. "By supporting existing FAXability clients with the next generation of NET SatisFAXtion fax servers, we have successfully accomplished both objectives."

About FAXability
First introduced in 1990 by Intel, FAXability was the desktop fax client for the NET SatisFAXtion fax server software line as well as the client for SatisFAXtion fax cards for DOS and Windows 3.11. Popular FAXability key features included fax annotation, public and private address books, cover page editor, drag and drop faxing, broadcast faxing, automatic client billing features, and the ability to fax directly from an application. FaxBack recently obtained the NET SatisFAXtion and FAXability trademarks in separate transactions. In December, the company introduced the NET SatisFAXtion SBE (Small Business Edition) 6.0 software line for departments and workgroups.
